The competition was conceived as part of
the activities to commemorate the birthday of His Excellency General
Yakubu Gowon former Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who
is the Patron of the Foundation.
It was aimed at keeping the mandate of
upholding worth values and legacies of leadership in the nation and to
help in the reorientation of writers and readers as well as fostering
peace, unity and selfless service to humanity in addition to providing
an avenue for writers to make suggestions for the development of the
nation in spite of its diversity.

Guidelines
- The essay must contain about 3000 words
- Essay should include a title page with Essay Title, your name, phone number, email address, place of origin and gender
- Essay should include a brief Biodata of not more than 50 words
- Essay must be original and unpublished
- Essay must be written by one person. Co-authored essays will not be acceptable
- Copyright of essays will be assigned to the Organizers
