SENSITIZATION ON “SEX EDUCATION”



The Medical and Health Service CDS group has carried out a sensitization and training programme at All Saint Presbyterian Secondary School, Ugep, Yakurr L.G.A. with the Senior Secondary School Students on November 20, 2014.

The president of the CDS group Dr. Ekene Obasi speaking at the event, said the essence of the Sensitization are to educate teenagers on; Sexually transmitted Infections, the Features of Sexually transmitted Infections and most importantly, How to Prevent sexually transmitted infection. He also purported that the backbone of the training was due to increased spread of HIV virus in Yakurr LGA giving that its statistics have increased over time, superseding Odukpani L.G.A, saying that it is good to tame their minds now that they are young, so that when they grow up, they would engage in Healthy sexual behaviours.


Other members of the CDS group, Agukwe Onyinyeelu and Dr. Okoro Anya Chiemeka spoke on STD extensively, its causes, symptoms, ABC of prevention, implications and lots more, while the others including teachers ensured audience, focus and proper organization of the students as they underwent the training process.
