Anti-corruption CDS Group Sensitization Exercise ( Shun Examination Malpractice )

After an intense meeting and planning, recommended for what would be the first sensitization exercise on “Shun Examination Malpractice” at Elder Ofem Memorial Secondary School, Nko, Yakurr LGA, of Cross River State.

The move was immediately hailed by members of the CDS on the 21st of May, 2015, as a step towards fighting corruption in the country.

With a word of Prayer and brief introduction by the President of the group (kopa Kayode), Shortly after the President highlighted the purpose of the sensitization exercise stating; “that the Pupils are the Future of Nigeria, and the best way to cub corruption is to fight it from the grass root (Educate the Children), also stating that lots of good values and Morales are no more. We have to tell ourselves to do the right thing because we believe in you (the Pupils) to do the right thing.”
The CDS highlighted critical issues through it committee of speakers;
  •   Kopa Dickson, spoke on Respect and admonished the pupils to respect God, their parents, teachers, Elders and seniors. Also stating that when respect is accrued to these persons, it would help them become better persons, invariably moulding the future and fighting corruption.
  • Kopa Uchenna, spoke extensively on Examination Mal practice or misconduct, exciting the pupils to work hard and kick against laziness. Saying that laziness leads to Mal Practices and that we cannot dwell on written past, when we can write the future, furthermore stated that we need to study to show ourselves approved, because we can`t stand before kings when we are not worthy. Conclusively talking to the teachers not to assist in examination Malpractice.
  •  Chief Host, Kopa Kazim spoke on “Being what you are not Culture”- Copying. Inculcating to the students that copying will never make you a professional. In addition the President stated that “Anti corruption starts from you!!! Always do the right things, never follow the crowd, be courageous in choosing right, and never compromise because your future is precious, bright and important to the Nation.”
  •  Kopa Sam (Fin. Sec), spoke on “A teacher is a leader and a leader is a teacher.” We have to positively impact on people and not to be unjust. Talking about injustice and things that form injustice are Laziness, Disobedience and Examination malpractice. Also speaking on confidence and summarized by saying we are all leaders and at the same time teachers, it’s what we have we dish out, we need to read now so we can teach and lead in the future.
  •  Concluding Speaker, kopa Chigozie Steven, spoke on confidence and destiny, motivating the students on the need to be confident. Inciting them that Joy or Pain awaits ones arrival depending on choices made, for purpose is the reason they are, if they are not there, mankind will miss them, for they are praying and depending on them to do the right thing. Furthermore stating that there are two kinds of pain; the pain of hard-work and the pain of regret/laziness. He donated a book titled:” Learn to Love” and indulged the students to fight to read it.

The exercise ended with the national anthem, NYSC Anthem and the Pledge. More Pics of the event below;
